Global Views Monthly Survey on Corporates' Favorite University Students—LHU Ranks First Among Non-Medical Private Technical Universities in Number of Listings

publish date : 2025-02-06 update date : 2025-04-25

In its “2025 Corporates' Favorite University Students” survey results, Global Views Monthly has released a comprehensive analysis across 17 sub-categories, revealing the rankings by various industries for the first time following the recent conclusion of the 2025 University Entrance Exam. Lunghwa University of Science and Technology has once again achieved the highest ranking among private technical universities in sub-categories such as “Corporates' Favorite Interns,” “Information Technology Industry's Favorite University Students,” and “Favorite University Students of Small-Cap Enterprises (Capital of 500 Million to 1 Billion NTD).” It also obtained the highest listings among non-medical technical and vocational institutions, demonstrating its exceptional educational capabilities.

For many years, the Global Views Monthly survey has been a critical resource for prospective university students when selecting their institutions. Sub-rankings were implemented this year to improve objectivity and fairness. These sub-rankings were determined by the following criteria: region, education type, industry category, industry capital size, and workforce scale. The survey also introduced a new category called “Corporates' Favorite Interns” in response to the increasing number of university students interning at companies. Lunghwa University of Science and Technology was awarded the prestigious first-place honor in this category of private technical and vocational institution.

President Tzu-Hsiang Ko of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology observed that, despite obstacles such as Taiwan's declining birthrate and a decrease in the number of students registering for the Technical College Entrance Exam, Lunghwa remains dedicated to practical and applied education. The university persists in enhancing the quality of its faculty, instruments, and campus facilities. Its talent development initiatives are centered on establishing various clever, hands-on training platforms, enhancing interdisciplinary technical integration, and cultivating unique strengths through close industry-academia collaboration.

In recent years, Lunghwa University of Science and Technology has established three industry-like hands-on training bases subsidized by the Ministry of Education with over 300 million NTD, per the government's “Five Plus Two Industry Innovation Plan” development policy. Specialized facilities, including semiconductor component manufacturing and packaging testing laboratories, in addition to these bases, offer practical skills and research and development capabilities. The university provides industry partners with integrated design and manufacturing services through these training bases. LHU was the sole private technical institution recognized in the “Information Technology Industry's Favorite University Students” sub-category due to the comprehensive and rigorous hands-on training students receive during their academic careers.

President Ko emphasized that Lunghwa was the first to implement the “Order-Based Employment Program” in 2012, which was based on a modular curriculum design. This program converts students' final year of university coursework into their first year of industry training, guaranteeing that courses are practical and per industry requirements while providing many internship opportunities. The university's exceptional ranking in the “Corporates' Favorite Interns” category of the Global Views Monthly survey, which places it at the forefront of private technical and vocational institutions, is a testament to its respect and recognition from the industry.

President Ko emphasized that Lunghwa University of Science and Technology will persist in its pursuit of excellence in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), smart manufacturing, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing, big data, and extended reality (XR, including AR/VR/MR) technologies and services. Simultaneously, the university actively fosters students' capacity to competently employ AI to address engineering, management, and humanities and design challenges. Students are prepared to become immediate assets to employers by considerably improving their workplace competitiveness following an intensive training program on the university's hands-on basis.
