The Thai Representative in Taiwan Affirms the Academic and Practical Accomplishments of Lunghwa University.

On October 21, 2024, Narong Boonsatheanwong, the Thailand Trade and Economic Office representative, visited Lunghwa University to gain insights into Thai students' learning and living conditions. He initiated conversations with the Thai students, encouraging them to value the opportunity to study at Lunghwa University. He emphasized the importance of working hard to gain professional knowledge and essential practical skills and enhancing their Chinese language abilities to boost their future employment opportunities.

The Thailand Trade and Economic Office delegation explored a range of locations, including semiconductor facilities, PCB production sites, and digital content multimedia technology research and development centers at Lunghwa University. The delegation explored the teaching and practical training facilities to gain insight into the school's remarkable industry-academia collaboration and research achievements. Narong Boonsatheanwong, the representative, conveyed his appreciation for LHU's commitment to enhancing students' practical skills and fostering cooperation between industry and academia, which are hallmark traits of their exceptional educational offerings. He aims to partner with others to enhance vocational and technical education exchanges between Taiwan and Thailand.

In welcoming the visiting delegation, Tzu-Hsiang Ko, President of Lunghwa University of Science and Technology, reaffirmed his commitment to the university's vision of emerging as the leading institution in Asia for cultivating practical talent in the electronics sector. The university is actively working to expand its overseas education initiatives in alignment with Taiwan's New Southbound Policy. At LHU, the international student population has exceeded 2,500, showcasing a remarkable surge, particularly among Thai students in recent years. For numerous years, the institution has championed the fusion of academia and industry, helping students align with the needs of the industry. The Overseas Community Affairs Council has tasked the school with creating a high-tech talent training base in Thailand, highlighting the school's advanced teaching and practical facilities. Recently, a diverse array of academic, government, and industry representatives from Thailand's Surat Thani Province, along with members of the International Lions Club, the ASEAN Trade Association, KMUTT (King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi), and SUT (Suranaree University of Technology), have been drawn to visit the campus.

LHU has teamed up with Chulalongkorn University, Thailand's leading higher education institution, to develop a dual-degree bachelor's program in semiconductors collaboratively. This initiative has fostered significant interactions among degree students, exchange students, and international internships from both universities. At LHU's semiconductor department, more than 20 exchange students from Chulalongkorn University are honing their practical skills in semiconductor technology.

Representative Narong Boonsatheanwong highlighted the enduring bond between Thailand and Taiwan, noting that the Thailand Trade and Economic Office is crucial in fostering collaboration between the two nations. Experienced professionals play a vital role in shaping Taiwan's esteemed high-tech industries, such as semiconductors and various small and medium-sized enterprises. Thailand, a pivotal Southeast Asian hub, aims to enhance extensive cooperation across multiple sectors, including education and the economy. He also highlighted the outstanding educational achievements and strong research collaboration between industry and academia at LHU. He conveyed his goal to utilize diverse opportunities to inspire Thai students to further their education at LHU and enhance their career prospects.
